A day in the life of Mae { Real Life }

To show how wonderful real life photos can be, I decided to do a day in the life of my youngest Mae, who I get the pleasure of homeschooling (unschooled style). Some usual activities that never happened yesterday was dress up to Katy Perry YouTube videos (which is happening right now as I type this), helping make juice or baking something, and reading.

So during yesterday upon waking with messy hair, she dressed herself (yes I have no say in what that child wears anymore) and wanted her hair to have a braid like Elsa ("Frozen" queen for those of you that haven't had the pleasure of watching it yet 100 times). Then she continued on with playing with her precious Katy doll and tormenting her kitten Tugg. Everyday right now colouring seems to be part of our day; she loves it! Checking out the space app on the iPad seems to be a daily thing too; she's got the order of the planets almost memorized right now. It was also a good day here as we received our 12 "Painted Lady" caterpillars in the mail; there will be a separate blog post on that one in about a month to show their progression. Then it was onto painting, running around the house, lunch, then outside play. After supper the Lego came out (which happens in our house everyday for hours), the clothes came off (everyday occurrence), she decided to make her mustard/bacon/cheese sandwich, and more art began. After all that her computer came out for some down time where she searched "Frozen" Lego then watched a cartoon. She ended her day by snuggling with her big sister Emma. What you didn't see in all this was that there were about 4 other kids here, as I also babysit during the day.

All these photos I used manual only on my camera; with a couple of them being Free Lensed too. I caught some new favorite photos of my Mae, I think this is because I captured her doing things she loves doing and you can see this in her smile. So maybe everyone should consider "Real Life" sessions more, as they will capture their children's real expressions not forced ones. Something to think about and well worth the money you are going to spend anyways.

Enjoy and share the love.

Personal { Life Styled }

Is there something you and your kids and/or family do all the time, that you would like captured? It could be silly to some, but for you it's some of your fondest dearest memories.

I did an example of such a session today of something I do almost daily. Now that I have someone who loves to help out (which I adore) and enjoys the finished product as much as me, I wanted to etch that into my mind and remind her of it someday. I'm talking about juicing.  Yes, juicing. Something that takes me minutes to do; but when you have such a darling little helper that shares the love of this too, you kind of want to be reminded of that someday, knowing that this little faze won't last forever.

This chore took only 5 minutes, and in such a short time I captured the activity and the faces that went along together to create the memory; except I wasn't in the photos as much as I would have liked...guess I should have hired a photographer! So imagine what someone could portray in just 30 minutes. For me, real life sessions ring true to my core. I'm home all day with this little charmer homeschooling, but still I have forgotten some old activities that used to just thrill her on a daily basis. I'm trying to preserve what I can now and I suggest others try and do the same. Not only does this preserve a moment you share everyday, it shows the true character of your child, your lives, and the reality of your bond.

Enjoy and share the love.

Hanson/Foley { Maternity }

I have known this girl for a good many years, so when she contacted me to come to her house and photograph her adorable belly I was beyond thrilled! It was a rainy day in the town of Quispamsis the day I went to Tracy and Andrew's house; but we made it work, as we all came up with lots of ideas to do within their beautiful home. You can't deny by looking at these two, that they are so darling and nothing is more lovely than seeing this kind of love as they patiently wait for their new gift. Oh and have I mentioned that Tracy's belly is just the sweetest!! I can't wait to go back next month and capture this love while they are holding their sweet new baby girl.

Share the love and enjoy.
