I've had a love for photography since I was small; and am currently studying on my own in Sackville, New Brunswick to be the best photojournalistic portrait photographer I can be. I have taken photography courses through the Fine Arts Program at Mount Allison University and am now primarily self-taught to find my own style. My approach to photographing your children, family, or wedding, is to capture emotions and relationships with the character of your family in a relaxed, warm setting. I do ONLY on-location, natural light shooting, because I believe the most stunning photos are the ones that make use of natural light and their surroundings, while staying honest! I edit photos with this intent as well; I will enhance the photos to look natural (unless it's black and white) .
Aside from pursuing my love of photography, I'm also a homeschooling caregiver during the day of 2 beautiful girls.
Some other things about me, and some less important ones:
1. I was born and raised in St. Stephen, NB but I currently live in Sackville, NB (where my creativity is resurfacing).
2. I have 3 years of a Bachelor of Arts/Fine Arts & 1 year of Administrative Assistant; the Fine Arts (photography) is the only one I would like to finish and have a passion for.
3. I managed to find and marry a man who continues to be my best friend and my biggest supporter. With him we are raising 2 beautiful girls (my biggest inspiration), 1 dog, and 3 cats. While being able to be home with my girls (one of which I homeschool) I also babysit other toddlers/preschoolers; some may think this is crazy but I like to think of it as a love of children.
4. If I'm shooting your wedding, I'm probably going to cry. I cry while watching movies and even sappy commercials.
5. I'm not a fan of photos that are re-touched to the max or too formal. I think a beautiful portrait is one that is natural and honest, with maybe a little tweak. But I do love a lot of colour in photos, lens/sun flares in photos, and black & white photos (so don't be surprised if you receive these types of photos on your cd).
6.I'm a strong believer in being green (love wind mills for some reason) and am vegetarian, which probably annoys most people I know.
